Two people are facing drug charges following a Friday evening traffic stop in Kendall County.
Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies stopped Rene Ibarra, 20, 0-99 block of North Webster Street, Aurora, at 7:57 p.m. for speeding near Route 34 and Mason Square Drive. Deputies said Ibarra was driving 48 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Ibarra and his passenger, Betty Salgado, 19, 500 block of Front Street, Aurora, were both charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.
Ibarra was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, deputies said.
Kendall County
Someone broke into two vehicles and stole children’s books, DVDs, and a stereo sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Laurie Lane. Police said there were no signs of forced entry to either vehicle.
Joel Bustamante, 27, 1100 block of Liberty Street, was charged with drunken driving after he was stopped for improper lane usage at 4:24 a.m. Thursday near Route 31 and Mill Road, deputies said. Bustamante was also cited for driving on a suspended license, no insurance, and illegal transportation of alcohol, deputies said.
