A 39-year-old Batavia man has been charged with 10 felony counts of possessing child pornography.
Ernesto Navarro-Romero of 1102 Lorlyn Circle in Batavia has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography/victim under 13 years of age, each a Class X felony; and five counts of possession of child pornography/victim under 13 years of age, each a Class 2 felony.
The minor victim was an acquaintance of Navarro- Romero.
The incident allegedly took place during a recent party at the offender’s residence in Batavia. The police were notified of the incident after it was brought to the attention of a social worker at the child’s school.
A Class X felony carries a sentence of six to 30 years in prison. A Class 2 felony carries a sentence of three to seven years in prison if convicted.
The incident is still under investigation, Batavia police said.
