Two men charged in connection with a September shooting at a KFC on Aurora’s East Side have pleaded not guilty.
Joshua Scott, 26, and Chase West, 20, both of Aurora, appeared in Kane County court Wednesday to be arraigned on multiple counts that include attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.
West is accused of entering the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Sept. 4 with co-defendant Claude Jackson as part of a robbery attempt. Jackson has been charged with shooting and injuring three employees during the incident, according to prosecutors and court records.
Scott is alleged to have driven a Cadillac Escalade used to help West and Jackson flee the scene.
Jackson is expected to be arraigned next month. A woman with ties to Jackson, Fatima Robertson, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to charges tied to a pair of unrelated robberies that authorities said showed similarities to the KFC case.
Robertson and Jackson shared a residence. She is charged with taking $2,000 in a robbery of an auto parts store in July and an attempted hold-up of a restaurant in August, records show.
