An Aurora father was charged with driving 40 miles per hour over the posted speed limit on Sunday, with his young son in the car.
Aurora police said that Douglas Rayford, 34, 1600 block of North Marywood Avenue, was driving with his 8-year-old son around 4:30 p.m. when he was stopped by police for speeding.
Officers said that during the stop, they smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. No drugs were located in the vehicle.
Rayford was also charged with no insurance, and driving on a revoked license. Police said Rayford has six prior convictions for driving on a revoked license.
Aurora
Jorge Morales, 21, 800 block of Hinman Street, Aurora, was charged with felony retail theft after stealing more than $400 worth of items from a store in the 0-99 block of Union Street, police said. Morales allegedly entered the store around 8 p.m. Monday and stole electronics, medication, and other items.
Marcus Reynolds, 39, 700 block of Fulton Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, improper lane usage and driving on a revoked license at 2:20 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of East New York Street, police said.
Jose Guillen, 62, 1200 block of Liberty Street, Aurora, was charged with drunken driving, driving in the wrong lane, improper turn and no insurance at 9:19 p.m. Thursday near Trask Street and Front Street, police said.
Leroy Simpson, 48, 3800 block of Gaylord Lane, Montgomery, was charged with drunken driving at 2:48 a.m. Sunday near West Galena Boulevard and North Lake Street, police said.
