An Indiana woman was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for stealing more than $150,000 from the Kane County law firm that employed her.
Jordan E. Terry, 48, pleaded guilty to one count of theft on Sept. 11, 2014, according to a statement from the Kane County state’s attorney’s office.
Terry, of Walkerton, Ind., was sentenced by Judge Clint Hull to four years in prison. She was also ordered to repay the stolen money when she is released from prison.
According to prosecutors, Terry stole $163,373.86 from the Van Der Snick Law Firm, which is based in St. Charles, between January and August 2011. She used the money to make payments on her credit card bill.
Once she is released, she will report back to court to begin a plan for restitution to the victim.
