Woman charged after high-speed chase in Kendall County

A Minooka woman was charge with fleeing Kendall County deputies Sunday following a high-speed chase through the county.

According to Kendall deputies, Karen Juergens, 53, was clocked speeding 112 mph in a 55 mph zone at 4:25 p.m. near Route 47 and Joliet Road.

Deputies said they attempted to stop Juergens, but she sped away, heading south on Route 47 toward Grundy County.

Juergens was eventually stopped by Grundy County deputies near Route 47 and Interstate 80 in Morris. She was charged with felony fleeing and eluding police while driving more than 35 mph over the posted speed limit.

According to deputies, she was also ticketed for improper passing and disobeying a traffic light.
