Police said an argument over politics led to the battery of a pregnant woman in Aurora Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to a home in the 2400 block of Hedgerow Drive around 4:30 p.m. for reports of a battery.
According to police reports, Andrei Voronov, 37, of Palatine was arguing about politics with a 29-year-old pregnant woman.
The conversation became heated and Voronov allegedly threw a metal paper towel holder at the victim’s head, police said.
Police said the woman was cut on her forehead and had a severely swollen face when they arrived on the scene. She refused medical treatment.
Before police arrived, the victim’s husband who witnessed the incident allegedly punched Voronov in the face, police said.
