No one was injured and no tickets were issued after a man allegedly passed out behind the wheel and drove his vehicle into an Aurora pond.
The driver told police he was navigating a curve around 4:29 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Premium Outlet Boulevard when the crash occurred. He told police he doesn’t remember driving up the curb, crashing through a section of heavy brush and having his vehicle land partially in a nearby pond.
Two passengers inside the vehicle said it appeared the driver had passed out just prior to the crash. The witnesses said they called out to the driver who was unresponsive.
Police said the front seat passenger applied the emergency brake, but the vehicle was traveling at 20 mph when it entered the pond.
The vehicle was pulled from the pond and towed from the scene. No one was injured.
Police said because the crash occurred on private property, no citations were issued.
