Charges have been filed against a Yorkville man who was shot with a stun gun by police more than five times before evading them in a stolen vehicle in October.
On Oct. 15, Yorkville police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 34 near Countryside Parkway.
Another driver had pulled over to help the victim, later identified as 53-year-old Todd Logue. Logue’s vehicle had struck a telephone pole, police said.
The other driver parked his vehicle near the scene while he helped Logue, who had minor injuries.
When police arrived, Logue, 300 block of McHugh Road, allegedly became belligerent toward them, and attempted to disarm a female officer.
Police used a stun gun more than five times on Logue, who was able to jump into the other driver’s vehicle and speed away. Logue was seriously injured when he crashed that vehicle into a telephone pole a short distance from the scene.
Yorkville Deputy Chief Larry Hilt said Logue sustained multiple fractures and possible spinal cord injuries.
On Nov. 26, Kendall County prosecutors charged Logue with felony possession of a stolen vehicle, attempting to disarm an officer and two counts of resisting arrest.
