A Montgomery man has been charged with aggravated assault after Kane County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a house on the 0-99 block of Johns Lane in Aurora Township Monday night about a confrontation concerning an alleged Facebook post.

After speaking to the victim, at 10:40 p.m. deputies went to the house to speak with the suspect, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. Deputies tried for approximately 15 minutes to get him to leave the house.

Eventually, Oscar Guzman, 26, of Montgomery, and a 20-year-old woman exited the home, according to the release.

Deputies learned that there was an unidentified man along with a woman and a 3-year-old child still in the house. Deputies tried to contact the people inside for approximately an hour, however they refused to talk to deputies, according to the release.

Since the deputies were unable to determine if the woman and child were free to leave or were being held against their will, the Kane County SWAT team was called to the house.

After approximately two and a half  hours of attemping to contact the people inside, the SWAT unit went into the home and took the man, David Oslund, 33, of Aurora into custody.

It was learned that the woman and child who were in the home were there by their own choice and not being held against their will. The two women at the house were released without charges.

The two men were transported to the Kane County Adult Justice Center. Guzman was charged with aggravated assault. Oslund was held on warrants for residential burglary and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
